DEATH

  When we were small our father used to teach us that our life on this earth is just equivalent to the time we spent at the bus stop . We are traveller in this world and hereafter is Permanent. When we dip our finger into the sea, the little bit of water we pull out of it, i.e., the wetness which dries up in a while, is almost nothing compared to the entire sea. In the same way, the temporary life of this world is practically nothing compared to that of the Hereafter. Since childhood we all have seen many deaths and perhaps have attended many funerals but have we ever pondered that what actually death is ? we are born as human with the limited life ,with the inevitable dogma called "death".

We have forgotten or perhaps have misinterpreted the existence of death and hereafter or we avoid discussing the topic . As with other matters of the Unseen, the full details of the death and hereafter are beyond human language and comprehension. As Kenneth Burke's suggests, 'Language is intrinsically unfitted to discuss the supernatural literally ams so the death is. Yet,all we have with which to discuss these matters is the words of human language—

What is death :

Death is a great unknown beyond the grasping of human mind. We all see many people dying but we never realize that its closer to us than we actually think about .  With each breath it's happening to me and you .  I could be off the next moment. And here comes the matter of UNSEEN(alam al-ghayb). The Qur'an says, 'He it is Who has revealed unto you (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations. They are the substance of the Book—and others (which are) allegorical' (3:7). The Complete meaning of allegorical verses cannot be empirically determined. Every discussion of the Unseen involves the inexpressable.Eventually it ends upon which is unattainable in language. Therefore, our discussion of hereafter is incomplete without the concept of TAQWA.

It can be known only by knowing in depth about why we are created? We the humans were sent to earth for tests and  evaluation (aazmayesh) . The Qur'an uses the most vivid descriptions,  and dynamic language when discussing the Hereafter. Hereafter is more valuable than life on earth:The Hereafter is better (khayr) and longer lasting (baqa)' (87:17);

Death is just an illusion which changes our vision towards this worldly life. Life continues beyond death and life after death is permanant. Islam regards death as the separation of the soul from the body when the body perishes. The Holy Qur'an provides clear explanation of this fact and its implications.

'Every soul shall have a taste of death and on the Day of Judgment he will be paid full recompense. Then you shall return to us.Only those who are saved from Hell Fire will have attained the true object of this life' (Sura 3rd; 185).

•Allah did not say that every person Shall die but he said,or every person shall experience death but Allah said every person shall taste death. Allah selected the word taste it means that your actions will dictate the flavour of your death. Each one of us will have different flavours depending upon our deeds .Taste is the quality of someone alive, however you will taste the consequences of your actions in this life to the next life. ( hereafter).

Pain of the death :

No one actually knows that how is the sense of death. We can only see the expressionless, neutral died body which was in pain before death or may be died suddenly. But no one can explain what happens when a person die. If we see the death in medical terms, the study is called as THANATOLOGY. In science we say life is sustained on three interlinked vital system, the nervous, the circulatory, the respiratory system and death is a PERMENATNT and irreversible cessation of these three interlinked vitals of the body. Following death, numerous physical and chemical changes occur that ultimately lead to disintegration of the body. Firstly, some changes occurs immediately like body becomes pale, eye changes and pupils dilate, loss of reflexes etc. Then gradually body becomes stiff due to some changes in muscle fibers and finally decomposition and putrefaction occurs means body if remained exposed to the external environment at room temperature finally turns into skeleton that is what actually happens in the grave.

For those who are believers, when they die, Allah says: “Whatever you have will end, but what Allah has is lasting. And We will surely give those who were patient their reward according to the best of what they used to do. Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer, We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward (in the Hereafter) according to the best of what they used to do.” (Qur’an, 16:96-97)

Qur'an presents a terrible picture of those wrongdoers and transgressors. When the angels take the souls of the unbelievers, they smite their faces and their backs, telling them to taste the penalty of the blazing fire because of their worldly deeds, for God is never unjust' (8th Sura; 50-51).it is mentioned (14th Sura; 17) that death will come to them from all quarters, yet they will not die. The door of escape by annihilation is also closed to such a lot!

"But It remains uncertain to what happens to a person when they die. "

Why we feel sad when someone dies?

Helping someone who is grieving ;

Ideally, we ought not to be afraid of death as it takes us back to our creator. But we still are; the reason being that we are never prepared to meet death due to unfinished 'business' in this life.
